Chambre Bleue
Rubelli fabrics king size room for this Loire Valley Hotel. Elegant double room with king size bed, and luxurious decoration in this family chateau of the Loire Valley: Turquoise silk Rubelli fabrics, antique oil paintings and precious Louis XV antiques. Juliet balcony overlooking the garden and park. En suite shower and WC and small dressing room. Chambre aux Oiseaux is a charming twin bedded adjoining room with a view on the Parc du Chateau and the Valley. It can also be rented separately. Its shower room has been renovated in 2014.

Chambre Jaune
Double room (1m60) with radiant golden yellow Esprit de Jouy wall fabric highlighting precious mid XVIIIth century antique furniture and a large Aubusson tapestry above the bed alcove.
Sweeping view over the colourful garden, the pond, the stream meandering through the meadow and the distant church tower. En suite bath and shower, WC.

Suite Marin de Vanssay
Loire Valley Chateau a suite in a luxury Hotel… Marin de Vanssay, the husband of the great grand-daughter of the builders of famous Loire Valley castle Chenonceau, added this wing on to Château de la Barre to inhance its’ prestige. Facing the imposing century-old oak wardrobe stands an important French Régence commode. The luxurious gold and royal blue Rubelli fabric complements the remarkable furniture and the embroidered linens of this princely room.
Chambre Louis XV : An most elegant adjoining small double room (1m40) can be added upon request, creating a vast suite.

Suite aux Fleurs
Room with jacuzzi for Le Mans and the Loire Valley… Double room (1m60) situated in the XIVth century wing of the Château. Bright Braquenié fabric forms a striking setting for the luscious patina of the XVIIIth century antique furniture. En suite Italian marble bathroom with Jacuzzi & WC, built into the former watch walk tower.
Additonal room: A small adjoining single room, (1m10) with a period “Empire” bed, overlooking the family chapel of the chateau, can be added, thus forming a Junior suite.

Suite Esprit de Jouy
One green, the other blue, these two adjoining, yet separate rooms recall all the splendours of French XVIIIth century “art de vivre”.

The Chambre Esprit de Jouy Verte
is the most romantic bedroom of the chateau, with a king size (1m80) four poster bed, a Juliet balcony plus a large window overlooking the garden and park. The emerald green ‘toile de Jouy’ fabric on the walls provides an elegant setting for the period Louis XVIth antiques and oil paintings. En suite bathroom & WC and small dressing area.
It is possible to add on the Chambre Esprit de Jouy Bleue, with an authentic Louis XVI bed (1m30) and it’s own en suite shower, WC.

Dinner and Breakfast
170 different french wines and gourmet dinner in the restaurant. English Breakfast is served daily in one of the Château dining rooms, and upon prior reservation, guests may either enjoy a romantic supper in the small dining room or on the Chateau terrace, and twice weekly, partake in the Prestige Dinner in the XVIIth century Grand dining room of the château. Or else discover a gourmet restaurant in an Auberge in one of the nearby villages of the Perche, Sarthe or Loir Valley. Your hosts will be pleased to assist you in choosing and booking a table. For a light lunch during the day, a picnic can be ordered the night before.

Wine tasting
Wine tasting Bordeaux Burgundy Grand Crus and other famous french or italian wines.

Reception Rooms - Wedding - events and meetings in a castle hotel
Six reception rooms are open for the enjoyment of our guests.
In the colourful entrance hall, Kakoo our macaw extends a warm welcome, surrounded by bright Rubelli fabric, an XVIIIth century Venetian sedan chair and two ship models from the Maritime Museum in Paris.
During your stay, relax in the XIVth century “Pièce à feu”, now the billiard room, have supper in the intimate breakfast room, drinks in the cozy & elegant Pink Drawing Room, then dine au Château in the formal XVIIth century Grand Dining Room and adjurn to the ornate Grand Salon afterwards.

Pink Drawing Room
Pink Drawing Room with charm elegance and beauty with luscious fabrics, ancestral portraits, precious antiques, large Chesterfields, and a majestic fireplace embellish this cozy XVIth century Salon Rose, extended onto Chateau de La Barre by the great granddaughter of the builders of Chenonceau Castle in the Loire Valley.

Grand Dining Room
French natural food and wine in the Grand Dining Room. In this impressive dining room of the Chateau, a candlelit dinner is hosted twice a week with all the splendour of the “Grand Siècle”. Guests of the chateau gather around one large table, as is the tradition in the French aristocracy, with all the family porcelain, silver and embroidered, crested linen. The important antique ‘vaisselier’ is a masterpiece in its own right. Experience this unique opportunity to enjoy an authentic aristocratic dinner.

Small Dining Room
France impressionist paintings and refined french food and wines … The small breakfast room of the chateau is ideal for more intimate meals and the enjoyment of French Impressionist paintings, many of which recall scenes of Paris or the countryside of the Loire Valley.

Entrance Hall
Charming welcome of this french luxury Bed and Breakfast. Entering the castle means accessing the kingdom of Kakou, our macaw ara, one of the defining characters of our home. The beautiful Rubelli fabric on the walls recalls the atmosphere of the tropical islands from where fabulous three-mast ships, similar to the models displayed in this room, returned laden with colour and spices. Your first impression at chateau Hotel de la Barre with the entrance hall will be already refinement and charm.

Glycines
Romantic cottage weekly rental in France Loire Valley Honeymoon… This garden apartment for 2 persons consists of a large bedroom / living room with a comfortable king size bed, beautiful exposed beams and a limestone fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen with a little dining area and a French window opening out to the front garden, and a beautiful bathroom with a large corner bath and a walk-in shower. Separate toilet. Sheets, towels and firewood provided.

Les Lilas
Holiday rental self catering family flat or house in France. This cottage for four persons has twin bedroom infrared sauna large double bedroom jacuzzi bath. This flat has its own separate entrance from the XVIth century courtyard with a little garden to dine al fresco. The decoration of this apartment is both chic and cosy, with a living room/twin bedroom, with sitting/dining area and a sandstone fireplace, an ensuite power shower, infrared sauna and toilet, plus a separate fitted kitchen. Upstairs is a large double bedroom with sitting area and magnificent art deco desk, plus ensuite jacuzzi bath and separate toilet.

The Garden
At the bottom of the XVIth century fortification walls surrounding the château, four fragrant flower gardens, with different colour themes, and a long rose garden create an enchanted setting to complement visits to the major Loir and Loire valley gardens of Sasnières, Le Petit Bordeaux, Valmer, la Possonnière and of course, Villandry. Benches throughout the gardens make perfect places to enjoy an evening picnic as well. Past the gardens, paths lead down to the pond, the river, meadows and further into the woods of the 100 acre private park of Chateau de la Barre.
